瑞士老牌爵士樂團 NO SQUARE JAZZ QUARTET 新專輯《NOW?》亞洲巡演
成立于 1994 年 7 月的爵士四重奏 No Square, 由貝斯手 André Hahne 創立并主導。“樂隊最初的理念是打造一種充滿活力與生命力的爵士風格。我們的音樂在共同創作中不斷演進，團隊中的每位成員都能擁有平等的表達空間 —— 而現場演出，正是驅動我們、給予我們力量的核心。”
Founded in July 1994, the jazz quartet No Square was established and is led by bassist André Hahne. "The initial idea was to develop a lively, energetic jazz. Our music evolves collectively, and every member of the group can express themselves as equals. What drives and motivates us is live performance."
No Square 的爵士作品以簡潔的旋律為基底，融合更具復雜度的二元律動，其創作靈感源自當代爵士中廣泛運用的復合拍號與復節奏技法。樂隊以充滿能量與創造力的音樂語言，在國際舞臺上不斷拓展聲音的邊界。
樂隊全新推出的第十二張專輯《Now?》，標志著他們音樂旅程中的又一重要里程碑。這張作品汲取了樂隊近年來巡演歐洲、非洲與亞洲的深刻體驗，以“在路上”的生活為核心主題——舞臺上的熾熱瞬間、旅途中偶遇的人與事、時間仿佛靜止的片段，共同塑造了一支不斷前行的樂隊之靈魂。
No Square's jazz is crafted from simple melodies and more complex binary grooves, drawing inspiration from compound time signatures and polyrhythms developed in contemporary jazz.
With their 12th album «Now?», the No Square Quartet sets a new milestone in the band’s history. Inspired by recent tours across Europe, Africa and Asia, the album documents life on the road: concerts, encounters, moments of suspension – all that shapes the soul of a band on the move.

The group has already released 12 albums and tours worldwide. Forged by years of live shows, Now? emerges as a vibrant, richly layered, and deeply human album. It is both a musical self-inquiry and a sincere response to the “here and now.” No Square wraps simple, moving melodies around intricate rhythms, bringing contemporary jazz to vivid, free-spirited life through shifting time signatures and polyrhythms.

出生于日內瓦的國際知名爵士薩克斯演奏家，是瑞士當代爵士的重要代表人物。他 20 歲時經歷橫跨亞洲的西伯利亞鐵路之旅，隨后前往紐約投身即興音樂，曾與 Cecil Taylor 等傳奇音樂家交流學習。他的演奏風格兼具抒情氣質與探索精神，音色清澈而富有空間感。除音樂創作外，他亦活躍于攝影領域，其作品曾多次出現在 ECM Records 專輯封面上。
Born 1972 in Geneva, internationally renowned Swiss jazz saxophonist and key figure in Swiss contemporary jazz. After a six-month trans-Asian trip on the Trans-Siberian Railway at age 20, he immersed himself in improvised music in New York, meeting Cecil Taylor and J. R. Mitchell; he pursued studies in the US and Switzerland with Frank Lowe, Makanda Ken McIntyre, Chris Potter, Greg Tardy, Rich Perry, among others; earned his diploma in jazz performance and education at the Geneva School of Popular Music in 2000. His lyrical, atmospheric style has led to collaborations with Ben Monder, Gerald Cleaver, Thomas Morgan, Bojan Z, Nduduzo Makhathini, Kenny Wheeler, Kris Davis, Colin Vallon and more. He is also a photographer, whose work is widely exhibited and featured on ECM record covers.

One of the most promising pianists on the Swiss jazz scene, with a deep harmonic sense and a gift for melodic, lyrical expression in both solo and accompaniment. Holds a master’s degree in jazz composition from the Bern University of the Arts; blends acoustic and electronic elements in composition and sound design to form a personal language. Currently leads two solo projects: trio E-SCAPE and microtonal quartet KROSMO (featuring the worldwide unique Thirdtone Piano in Bern); released his debut trio album and has received multiple piano awards.

German-New Zealand musician based in Switzerland. Composer, bassist, founder of No Square and 60 Miles Trio; tours globally and has recorded numerous albums, also composing for theater and dance. An accomplished accompanist and soloist with strong melodic sense, in recent years focused on polyrhythm research. Introduced to jazz during his student years by Miles Davis’ The Man with the Horn; recent influences include Ambrose Akinmusire and Tigran Hamasyan. Also director of the Nova Jazz label, curating concerts and the Yverdon-les-Bains Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Born 1975 in Switzerland, graduate of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts School of Music. Passionate about improvisation, experimental and alternative music, collaborating with leading figures in Swiss and international music: Marc Ribot, Fred Frith, Ellery Eskelin, Heiri Känzig, Michael Wintsch, Mathieu Michel and others. His musical explorations have produced an original, recognizable language; his rhythmic concepts draw from both contemporary and historical schools, shaped by European improvised music. Has toured Switzerland, the USA, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Australia; recipient of the Suisa Foundation Jazz Award 2015 and Swiss Music Prize 2021.
